Good evening friends! Tonight I’m gonna give my little review on the Chicken of the Sea brand sardines in water. My sister in law was telling me about this sardine review site she saw on Facebook the other day when I was taking my niece out to look at Squishmallows. While we were there I saw this store called Ross Dress for Less. Have you guys heard of Ross Dress for Less? Because I haven’t.

Anyway my sister in law was telling me about the sardine review site and I asked her what a sardine was since I didn’t know. She told me it was some kind of a fish you can buy in a can and it’s really healthy for you or something like that. I’m not really a big fish kind of guy usually, but last week I tried out the new sushi joint at the Kroger and it was actually pretty good! They will even heat up the fish for you right there if you want them to. Pretty cool if you ask me. So I thought how different could it be? I’ll try anything at least once is my motto.

So I went to the Kroger again today and I asked an employee where the sardines were since I had never seen them there before. They said they didn’t know, but that’s all right because eventually I found the aisle myself anyway. I didn’t know what kind of sardines to buy because I didn’t even know there were different types like that! So I just went with the ones in water to be safe. Well when I got home and I opened them up I had to send my sister and law a picture of them because they looked kind of weird to me! There were all these little fish bodies in there going in all different directions and they had tails on them! They smelled kind of funny too. My sister in law told me that sometimes they do look like that but that I should have bought some packed in olive oil or something. Oh well! I guess sardines are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.

I wasn’t really sure how I was supposed to eat them but my sister in law told me to put them on some crackers with some hot sauce so I tried that. They did taste a little fishy but surprisingly not as fishy as they smelled. They were really soft which didn’t make sense to me because wouldn’t there be some bones in there or something? The texture was kind of dry actually and a little mealy but I didn’t notice it too much with the crackers and stuff. My wife came into the kitchen and wanted to know what I was eating. I told her sardines and she said they smelled a little weird to her. I told her she should try some too since she’s been trying to eat healthier lately. She didn’t want to at first but eventually she agreed to try it. She put some pickles on hers because she loves pickles. She still didn’t like it very much but she is a very picky eater.

My wife went to go watch the new Loki thing on Disney+ so I just finished up the sardines real quick since she said she didn’t want to smell them anymore. To be honest it wasn’t my favorite meal but I don’t like to waste food and it wasn’t really that bad anyway. I talked to my sister in law later and she told me next time I could try making a dip or something out of them and that would probably taste better.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my review. I’m going to go to bed now. Have a great rest of your day!
